One month assignment, still in WIP.
The goal was to make a next-gen environment, ready to be implemented in a game. I was inspired by Star Citizen, for the incredible scale and quality of their environments.
For the process, I made the lowpoly model in Maya. Then I made a pool of 15 tileable textures, using substance painter, that i would apply on different areas of my assets. The integration, lighting and rendering were done in Unreal.
I focused on creating a realistic dynamic lighting. But I kept in mind the performance limitation, in order to have a decent framerate when moving around the station. I also took into account the possible gameplay of my scene, with landing pads of different sizes, and some hangars to store the ships and let the players to get out of their vehicle.
